The Great Ocean Road is one of my favorite place in Australia, it is 240+ kms of fabulous scenery and a must to see if you visit the state of Victoria. We got to see our one and only koala on this part of the trip. We are now 567 km from home and on the last leg of our trip, with an easy, one day run back to Sydney on the Hume Highway.
These 3 Irish related businesses were within a stone's throw of each other in Warrnambool. The pubs name means "Story Teller" and the beauty salon's name means "Land of the Young". I was impressed to find this unusual collection of Irish connections in a lovely town on the Victorian coast.
It has been said that "Adelaide Park Lands and City Layout is widely regarded as a masterwork of urban design", it is a wonderful city to visit and walk around, we completed a 4 hour walk around the parks that surround the city, well worth the effort.
The Flinders Ranges offer wonderful waking opportunities and we were fortunate to complete a 3 hour hike in beautiful sunny and cool conditions.
3 days of driving and 3 nights of sleeping / surviving in "Nullarbor Roadhouses", they have to be seen to be seen to be believed.
Esperance claims to have Australia's best beaches, they are wonderful and are connected by great walking and cycling tracks.
"The Flinders" was not originally in the trip plan, but a wise lady we met on an Albany beach suggested it was worth the deviation, she was spot on.
Albany, a fabulous well kept secret. Wish we had more time to spend here, the beaches, walks and town are wonderful.
The wild flowers of Western Australia are truly amazing and worth all the effort and driving required to see them.
